Architect Training Course
This 2-hour online course is designed for engineers and contractors who have certain experience with the AASHTO Standard Specifications and timber structure design and construction methods. This course introduces concepts and step-by-step design examples of the most widely used contemporary timber bridges-- stressed laminated bridges and glulam stringer bridges using AASHTO Standard Specifications.

The majority of this course is presented in Word document format and must be downloaded. There will be a multiple-choice quiz at the end of this course.

At the conclusion of this course, you will:

  • Have a basic understanding of the design and construction of the contemporary timber bridges
  • Be capable of designing timber bridges following the step-by-step design examples (for professional engineers only) using AASHTO Standard Specifications
  • Be able to apply state-of-the-art technology to design and detail high performance and long lasting timber bridges
